January 24, 2026 - STATEMENT from Hawai'i-ANA on the killing of Alex Jeffrey Pretti

The Hawaiʻi-American Nurses Association is outraged and heartbroken by the killing of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an ICU nurse, in Minneapolis.

Nurses are called to serve, to heal, and to protect life. No nurse - no American - should lose their life while exercising the fundamental right to peaceful protest.

We stand in solidarity with the nursing community, with veterans, Minnesota Organization of Registerd Nurses (MNORN) and  all who are grieving this senseless loss.

We call for accountability, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to the protection of civil rights and human life.
