Share the Nursing Profession with High School Students

The below message is being forwarded to Hawaiʻi-ANA members and followers as a means to support high school students in Hawaiʻi and promote the nursing profession as a career opportunity! Please contact Cora Lau if you are interested in participating!

My name is Cora Lau and I am emailing you on behalf of Career Chronicles! Career Chronicles is a project that connects local high school students to professionals in job fields they are interested in through a virtual experience. You may find us at bit.ly/careerchronicle or careerchronicleshi on YouTube. We are currently working with the Department of Education to provide videos to teachers to show their students. One of the professions that students and teachers have displayed heavy interest in is nursing. I am wondering if you all know any nurses who would be willing to participate by:

1) making a video of yourself answering three questions posed by students (we already surveyed over a hundred students and have compiled the questions) and I will email you your three questions if you choose to do the videos. **Career Chronicles will assist with video editing**

2) making another video of a "day in the life" to show a typical day in your life (around 3 minutes). Examples can be found on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJkngYIrh-UdfwWJgrEYRsA/

3) (OPTIONAL) sending us a photo of yourself that we can put on our Instagram (@careerchronicleshi) to feature you, along with any sort of contact information we could attach to the post and your YouTube video (your email, Instagram username, etc). 

The videos would go on our YouTube channel, website, and to the DOE. If you do not want to participate, no worries! We just thought it would be good to reach out! Specifically, we are looking for CNAs, nurse aides, licensed practical nurses, and RNs (medical-surgical, emergency/trauma, critical care, or gerontology).
