Free Webinar: The Basics on Medical Aid in Dying
Presented by Our Care, Our Choice Act
August 13, 2020 from 12:15 - 1:15 p.m.
Our Care, Our Choice Act, which gives terminally ill Hawai`i residents access to medical aid in dying, has been in effect for over a year and a half. Yet many are still unsure of how it works. The pandemic is generating a new focus on end-of-life health care options and newfound time to educate ourselves about them. That’s why OCOCA is hosting a free webinar to go over the basics of and what terminally ill residents can do to qualify and access medical aid in dying to avoid unbearable suffering in their final days.
This webinar is a good overview for anyone new to the OCOCA/MAID arena. The planned audience is the general population but provides a really good base for healthcare professionals as well. If you and your members would appreciate an opportunity to learn about Our Care, Our Choice Act, and about the full range of options at the end of life, OCOCA invites you to join the webinar next week Thursday, August 13, 2020. OCOCA will also discuss their legislative efforts to improve the law, as recommended by the Department of Health in its latest report. During the call, you will be able to ask questions and learn more about the full range of end-of-life options available here in Hawai`i.
