Hawai'i-ANA Group Visit to Meet with Legislators: Nursing Advocacy in Action
Additional Information
Our Plan for the Day
Immediately following the conclusion of the official opening ceremonies, we will gather as a collective Hawai'i-ANA group. From our meeting point, we will walk together to visit our legislators in their offices. By visiting as a unified professional body, we demonstrate the strength and solidarity of the nursing community in Hawai'i.
The opening ceremony begins at 10:00am - HOWEVER, please arrive early to find parking and provide ample time for security screening. Lines were long last year!
Our Key Priorities
We will be speaking directly with lawmakers to provide essential information and advocacy on the critical issues facing our profession today:
- Workplace Violence
- Safe Staffing
- Nursing IS a Professional Profession
Why Your Presence Matters
Legislators need to see the faces of the people who provide care to their constituents every day. Whether you are a seasoned advocate or this is your first time visiting the Capitol, your presence adds weight to our message. Together, we can influence the policies that affect our practice and our patients.
We will be wearing our Hawai'i-ANA polo shirts in solidarity - get yours HERE
Hope to see you there!
